Speaking at the ceremony, Dantri/Dtinews' Editor-in-Chief Pham Tuan Anh recalled that in September 2024, super typhoon Yagi devastated northern provinces, causing severe loss of life and property. Dantri mobilised readers, benefactors, organisations and businesses to contribute, organising 22 emergency relief trips. In Lao Cai alone, the newspaper conducted 13 trips, delivering nearly VND 3 billion (approximately USD 118,000), 19.2 tonnes of rice and 11 tonnes of essential goods.

Pham Tuan Anh expressed hope that the new road and houses will encourage residents in disaster-hit areas to overcome difficulties and rebuild their lives, while extending thanks to leaders, local authorities and staff who joined hands with the newspaper in these projects.

At the event, Trinh Xuan Truong, Secretary of the Lao Cai Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, expressed gratitude to Dantri and benefactors for supporting Lao Cai in post-disaster recovery efforts. He recalled the flash flood in Lang Nu on September 10, 2024, which killed and left missing 67 people, with seven still unaccounted for. “Alongside other relief teams, Dantri quickly arrived in Lang Nu to help local residents overcome the disaster,” he said.
