Since July 27, as floodwaters receded and road access was restored, many locals in Tuong Duong Commune began bringing their water-damaged appliances for repairs.

Hundreds of electrical and household items, such as refrigerators, fans, and rice cookers, were brought to the communal cultural house, where the repair team set up a temporary service station.

Inside, the technicians worked nonstop, checking and fixing the equipment.

Refrigerators caked in mud were removed for thorough cleaning, while fans and other devices were disassembled for internal inspections and repairs.

Some technicians used hairdryers to dry out waterlogged fans, ensuring they could be safely restored to working condition.

Phan Van Khoi, deputy head of the Tan Ky Electronics and Refrigeration Association, said the group had set out early in the morning and divided into teams to work continuously without rest.

“We don’t have much money to support flood victims, so we contribute our labour. We hope this helps families resume normal life more quickly and eases their financial burden,” Khoi said.

Nguyen Thi Hoa, a resident of Tuong Duong, expressed her joy after receiving two rice cookers and an electric kettle that the volunteer group had repaired.
