The groundbreaking ceremony took place in Tan Quoi Commune and was jointly organised by Dantri and local authorities.
The beneficiary, 47-year-old Pham Cong Sanh, was featured in an article published in April about his family’s financial struggles after he was diagnosed with liver cancer.

Local officials said Sanh’s family had been living in a severely deteriorated wooden house and lacked the means to repair or rebuild it.
Speaking at the ceremony, Tan Quoi Commune Chairman Dinh Van Lac described the project as meaningful support for a family facing both serious illness and difficult living conditions.
The new house is expected to measure 5 by 12 metres, with total construction costs estimated at more than VND 150 million.

Sanh said he never imagined his family would be able to build a new home so quickly thanks to support from readers and donors.
“Even in my dreams, I never thought our wish for a new house would come true this soon,” he said.
For more than half a year, Sanh’s family has struggled after he was diagnosed with liver cancer and underwent chemotherapy treatment.
The couple, both farmers, are supporting two school-age children, an elderly mother and a father recovering from a stroke.
His wife said donations from readers had helped cover treatment costs and improve his condition in recent months.
