On December 1, Dantri, in cooperation with the People’s Committee of Tuy Hoa Ward in Dak Lak Province, held a ground-breaking ceremony for a new home for the family of Le Thi Ngoc Phuong.

Representatives from Dantri and the People’s Committee of Tuy Hoa Ward attend the ground-breaking ceremony for a new home for the family of Le Thi Ngoc Phuong on December 1.
The initiative is part of a post-flood rebuilding programme launched by Dantri. The new house is expected to cost over VND 250 million (approximately USD 9,470) from a combination of local government aid and VND 100 million contributed by the Financial Software Solutions - FSS JSC, through Dantri.
The house will cover more than 60 square metres, with special attention to strengthening the foundation and supporting pillars. A second storey will also be built so the family has a safe place during future floods.
Phuong, 37, shared that her household of four, she, her husband and two children aged 13 and 10, lost everything when the historic flood swept away their home and belongings on November 19. She works in a cashew processing plant near home so she can care for her children, while her husband works as a construction labourer in Ho Chi Minh City. Life has never been easy but had been stable until the flood. “The flood took everything, the house is gone,” she said.

He said the local authority plans to allocate funds soon to support all households whose homes were destroyed by the floods, including Phuong’s, with the goal of completing new housing before the Lunar New Year.
