Representatives from Dantri/Dtinews Newspaper and local authorities attend  the ground-breaking ceremony for three houses in Tay Ninh Province on August 6.

The three recipients are facing severe hardship.

Le Van Muon, 45, lives in a dilapidated house and suffers from a spinal injury that prevents him from working. His daughter has thalassemia and requires regular blood transfusions. The family depends entirely on the unstable income of his wife’s odd jobs.

Bui Van Khanh, 73, is mentally impaired and recently fractured three ribs in a traffic accident. He survives by collecting recyclables and sweeping market streets. His wife has severe joint pain and hypertension and is unable to work. Their only regular income comes from the disability allowance of their mentally ill daughter.

Le Thi Yen, 40, is a single mother of two malnourished children. Without stable employment, she struggles to make ends meet. The family lives in a dilapidated home that is unsafe during the rainy season.

Six low-income families in An Giang Province receive donations from Dantri/Dtinews' readers to build their new homes on August 5.

A day earlier, on August 5, Dantri also partnered with local authorities in An Giang to launch construction on six new houses and hand over two others to poor households, with a total cost exceeding VND 800 million (approximately USD 31,500), also funded by readers.
