Around 550 workers flew from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi, Vinh and Hue on three zero fare charter flights under a joint programme between the confederation and Vietnam Airlines supporting disadvantaged and high performing workers.

Before departure, each passenger received VND 300,000 (approximately USD 11.4) in cash as a Tet gift. “These free tickets are not merely a means of transport, but spring flights carrying love and responsibility,” said Phan Van Anh, Vice President of the confederation.

Dao Thi Thinh from Hung Yen Province, who had not returned home for Tet in 27 years, said the ticket felt like “a bridge reconnecting family ties after so long apart.”

Others were equally moved, including a young couple travelling with their child after four Tets away, and Nguyen Van Chien, 41, flying home with his son for the first time in eight years. “This is the most meaningful Tet gift for us,” he said.

As the three aircraft departed, they carried not only passengers and luggage but also long awaited reunions, allowing spring to begin with the simple act of going home for Tet.
