Meeting Permanent Deputy PM Nguyen Sinh Hung in Hanoi on Tuesday, Dr. Francis Gurry, General Director of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), stated that Vietnam has all conditions to realize intellectual property rights.

The WIPO chief highly appreciated Vietnam’s clear activeness in realizing intellectual property (IP), which has significantly contributed to the country’s socio-economic development achievements over the past years.
Mr. Francis Gurrypredicted that Vietnam will see an IP boom thanks to local demand and foreign investment.
He said Vietnam had a right assessment of IP’s important role and possesses a good technological background which facilitates the IP development.
Deputy PM Hung highly spoke of close cooperation between WIPO and Vietnam in IP field. Stating that Vietnam always considers IP rights protection an important issue in national socio-economic, scientific and technological development strategies, the host leader emphasised the country’s accession to various in international IP treaties and regional agreements on IP rights protection.
The Deputy PM expressed his wish that WIPO continues help Vietnam in IP field, particularly in making IP policy and law, enforcing related institutions, development of human resources, and improving people’s awareness of IP.
