The Vietnamese Embassy has been officially inaugurated in Athens, Greece.

Vietnamese Ambassador Vu Binh said he will do his best to boost the Vietnam-Greece relations for long-term mutual benefit.
Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son affirmed that the establishment of the Vietnamese Embassy in Greece testifies to the fine development of bilateral relations, and shows Vietnam’s strong determination to bring them to a higher level.
He highlighted the two countries’ embassies in helping two-way trade turnover achieve high growth, with Vietnam’s export earnings from Greece rising 40 percent in 2011 and Greece’s exports to the Southeast Asian country four times.
The Secretary General of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Iannis Zepos, expressed his belief that the newly-established Vietnamese Embassy will help boost bilateral cooperation based on the principles of mutual respect, friendship and goodwill.
He also spoke highly of both countries’ potential for trade cooperation, especially in agricultural, health care, garment, energy and machinery sectors.
