Car owner faces hefty fine over camera-detected traffic violations

A car owner in Phu Tho Province faces fines totalling VND 474.6 million (USD 18,000) after AI-powered traffic cameras recorded 96 violations involving his vehicle.

Phu Tho traffic police said on August 13 that they had issued an administrative violation report to the owner of a car with licence plate 29A-647.21, after the offences were recorded by AI surveillance cameras along Nguyen Tat Thanh Street.

According to police, the vehicle was also found to have three other violations, including a lack of valid compulsory civil liability insurance and a valid technical and environmental inspection certificate, as well as failure to complete registration procedures following a change of ownership.
