Vietnam reports lowest daily Covid-19 caseload in 11 months

The number of new Covid-19 cases continued to drop in Vietnam with 881 cases confirmed on Saturday, the lowest daily infections reported in 11 months, according to the Ministry of Health.

According to the ministry's report, most of the new patients are locally-transmitted cases confirmed in 46 out of 63 localities in the country with some localities seeing the highest numbers including Hanoi (218), Yen Bai (72), Nghe An (49), Vinh Phuc (45), and Quang Ninh (39).

As of Saturday evening, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to over 10.72 million. The country now stands 12th among 227 countries and territories worldwide in the number of infections.

On June 4, an additional 9,601 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to over 9.49 million.

On Saturday evening, no deaths related to Covid-19 were announced. Total fatalities stayed at 43,080.

By June 3, the country had injected more than 221 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines, including over 4.70 million given to children aged 5 to 11.
