Three children found dead after river drowning in Dak Lak

Three children have been found dead and another remains missing after a drowning incident in Dak Lak, where four children disappeared while swimming in a river during hot weather.

Authorities in Hoa My confirmed on the evening of May 16 that the victims, aged between nine and 14, had gone swimming together in the Banh Lai River earlier in the day.

According to preliminary information, the children entered the river at around 9 am before disappearing underwater.

When the children failed to return home, family members began searching and later discovered their belongings on the riverbank. Local authorities, rescue forces and residents then launched a search operation.

By around 7 pm, rescuers had recovered the bodies of three children from the river.

Search teams continued efforts late into the evening to locate the remaining missing child in the Banh Lai River.
