The incident occurred shortly after 7 am on September 15 at the gold shop in Song Cau Ward.
According to preliminary information, the man engaged the shop owner in conversation while the woman approached a display cabinet, opened it and took three gold necklaces worth more than VND 200 million.

The shop owner spotted the woman, prompting her to drop the jewellery and flee with the man.
The pair got into a white car waiting across the street and left the scene.
Police later intercepted the vehicle on National Highway 1D in Quy Nhon Ward, Gia Lai Province, more than 40 kilometres from the gold shop.
Authorities said four people, including three men and one woman, were in the vehicle. The foreign pair were caught following the interception.
Police are continuing to investigate the case.
