On the morning of September 14, Vo Xuan Son, a resident of Song Tri Ward, discovered the python crawling into his home. He safely captured the animal and reported it to local authorities.

Song Tri authorities and the provincial Forest Protection Department later identified the 7kg reptile as a reticulated python (Python reticulatus), a rare and endangered forest species classified in Group IIB.
The department is completing procedures to transfer the python to Vu Quang National Park for care before releasing it back into the wild.
