Vietnam recorded an additional 51 Covid-19 patients in the past 12 hours to 6 am on Friday, including 10 from abroad.
According to the Ministry of Health, 10 cases from abroad were confirmed in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau. They are all Vietnamese people who recently returned from the UAE and had been sent to quarantine area upon arrival.
Meanwhile, among 41 locally-infected cases, 23 are from Bac Giang, 10 from HCM City, four from Bac Ninh and four from Ha Tinh. Of these, 35 were detected at quarantine sites and places which have been isolated.
By 6 am on Friday, Vietnam logged 8,206 locally-transmitted Covid-19 cases and 1,629 from abroad. The number of new infections recorded from April 27 rose to 6,636 cases.
The provinces of Yen Bai, Quang Ngai, Dong Nai, Nghe An, Quang Ninh, Quang Nam, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Dak Lak, Nam Dinh, Hoa Binh, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Son La, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa and Hung Yen have gone 14 days without detecting no new cases.
Around 3,708 Covid-19 patients have been discharged from hospital in Vietnam.
