According to the Ministry of Health, the 45-year-old man from abroad was confirmed in Hai Duong Province.
Meanwhile, among 46 locally-infected patients, HCM City accounted for 33, followed by Bac Giang with five, Bac Ninh with four, Tien Giang with two, Nghe An with one and Tra Vinh with one.
Up to 41 among the domestic cases were recorded in quarantined or blocked areas while five others in HCM City and Bac Ninh are still under epidemic investigations.
By 6 am on Monday, Vietnam documented a total of 11,559 locally-transmitted Covid-19 cases and 1,699 others from abroad. Since April 27 alone, the country has logged up to 9,989 Covid-19 patients, including 2,445 discharged from hospital.
Twenty localities have gone through 14 days without detecting any new domestic infections.
Until now, 5,229 patients have been discharged from hospital. The country’s death toll related to the disease has risen to 66.
Currently, 172,746 people are being put under quarantine for Covid-19 prevention, including 1,937 at hospitals and the remainder at quarantine sites and home.
