VAECO, a Vietnam Airlines subsidiary, is the first Vietnamese company to receive such certification for aircraft maintenance services.
FAR-145 is a code of regulations and to become certified VAECO had to satisfy an extensive list of requirements. One of the criteria is to submit a description of the repair station housing facilities; a list of maintenance functions and an acceptable training programme; and a list of all equipment, personnel, and technical data that require inspection and ratings.
The regulations set up standards for the inspection and maintenance of aircraft and aircraft parts. The new standards will ultimately benefit the maintenance personnel, passengers and flight crew.
The FAA is an agency of the United States Department of Transportation with authority to regulate and oversee all aspects of civil aviation in the U.S.
The FAA ensures passengers’ safety by regulating the air transportation industry and maintaining a nationwide network of air traffic control systems.
