For whom will you be voting and why?

I will vote for Trump because of his business experience and understanding of people’s thinking, and his negotiation skills as opposed to career-politicians.

Why do you support President Trump?

I support Trump because he does not represent the established political parties in Washington. He is an outsider, a businessman, and socially conscientious of public opinion. Trump has upset entrenched forces such as politicians, lobbyists, and bureaucrats. They prefer the status quo and have long forgotten the needs of the people back in their home districts.

On domestic relations, Trump has made incursions into the social order unlike the previous administrations. Most noticeably, he has worked with the black communities to correct some injustices such as Alice Marie Johnson, who was incarcerated for non-violent drug offence, as well assisting Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) creating economic opportunity zones for minority businesses.

On foreign relations, Trump has made significant inroads to extend a working and positive relationship with antagonistic governments such as N. Korea. Even now in the news, the government of Sudan has reached out to the Trump Administration and joined a growing coalition of Muslim countries in a peace pact with Israel.

What are the main issues in this election?

There are many issues, but the primary issues to all Americans according to recent Rasmussen research, 84% of the American public regard the economy as the No #1 issue. The general consensus among the public is the desire to get back to work which requires local and state governments to relinquish restrictions imposed by their response to the Corvid virus. A distant second issue is national health care at 63%. Most voters want to see the national health care law implemented by Obama repealed. And at 62%, the American public want government corruption and ethics seriously addressed.

There are other issues no less important such as stopping the infectious Corvid virus, as well as addressing the economic, social, and political implications of this infection. Additionally, the general public wants the violence in our cities, which is responsible for massive amounts of property damage and fermented by anti-social forces, stopped.

What are the differences between the Trump administration and the Obama administration?

The primary difference between Messrs. Trump and Obama lies in their philosophies how they view America’s role in the world which translates into their vision of America. My personal opinion, based on articles written by political and history scholars argued that Obama’s administration did not see the US as unique among nations able to provide leadership in the world community. This attitude was also reflected as Obama was the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces which created some difficult issues in the Middle East.

On the other hand, Trump took a different approach. His is described as “traditional” and more reflective of our country’s forefathers’ philosophy of governance which is based on the writings of the classic Greek scholars. Rather than have power largely reside in a governing body, as did the European countries, our Founding Fathers believed in a limited Federal government with certain responsibilities for state and local government, and rights exclusively for individuals. This is what separates Trump from the establishment in Washington and his popularity among the people as seen at his numerous rallies across America.

Biden is leading in some swing states and in many polls. Do you think that the 2016 results can be repeated?

Yes, and maybe more so this year. To begin with, there is a difference between polls, which can be used to affect public opinion rather than reflect what people are in fact thinking, and research that follows strict protocols and procedures for revealing true sentiments. I saw numerous polls indicating that Hillary Clinton would win the presidency. However, in early 2016, I listened to an interview from a research group that discovered a serious undertow of discontent with voters with Washington in general.

Also, there is a silent group of Trump supporters who intentionally mislead pollsters for fear of being ostracized by co-workers, neighbours, and worse. This link best explains why pollsters have missed underlying opinions.

How do you view the Covid-19 pandemic and your President Trump's response?

Setting politics aside, the Covid-19 pandemic is a new phenomenon, not that it is a massive infection, but how we reacted to it in societies worldwide. Very little was known about this virus and how to respond. Note how the WHO and our CDC changed their concepts and recommended procedures. Additionally, there are a myriad of other social/economic and medical issues that have risen in response to the pandemic. Do we follow the governmental procedures as New Zealand, who has very strict methods to stop the virus, or Sweden, who has chosen to remain open?

Some people say Trump's America is more divided than ever. What do you think?

Our division had been fermenting for some years before Trump took office. The division runs deeper than politics. It cuts into culture and how one views America's role and history. My personal view is that there are "parties" individual and organizational, who are interested and exasperate the division following the old adage of "Divide and conquer" in order to gain power. Politics will not solve the division. We need a spiritual awakening that will change people's hearts, and how we treat each other. I've witnessed some horrific evil on the news such as the attacks on our police, and in one case an elderly black man in Milwaukee, WI who was murdered for his support for Trump. Until people's hearts change, my concern is our division will continue.

Thank you!
