Rescue forces recover the bodies of two students from a stream in Vung Bot area in Danang City on August 1.
Nguyen Thuc Dung, Chairman of Hai Van Ward People's Committee, said the incident occurred at around 6.30am. Both victims were 20-year-old students currently enrolled at universities in Danang.
The two young men were wading in the stream when they slipped and fell into the water. They were swept away and went missing shortly afterwards.
Local residents who witnessed the incident promptly alerted authorities.
Upon receiving the report, Hai Van Ward Police, together with local rescue teams and militia forces, quickly arrived at the scene and began searching for the victims.
By around 10am the same day, both bodies had been recovered and handed over to their families for funeral arrangements.
The Vung Bot area is not a regulated tourist site. Despite lacking proper infrastructure, the site attracts visitors each year, and drowning incidents have repeatedly occurred.
Authorities have erected warning signs and barriers in the area, but many people continue to ignore the safety warnings, leading to tragic accidents.
