Two people were killed in lightning strikes in Hanoi's Hoai Duc District during a rainstorm on Wednesday morning.

Party Secretary of Van Con Commune, Nguyen Van Thoan, said that two women were killed in lightning strikes while working on a local rice farm during a rainstorm at 7 am on July 13.
"Dinh Thi, 54, and Nguyen Thi, 50, were planting rice when the accident occured," the committee said. "They both died on the spot."
Hanoi has seen occasional rains with lightning strikes over the past three days.
