According to the Mines Advisory Group (MAG) project in Quang Binh, the two M117 bombs weigh around 340 kilos each.
One of them was found by the MAG project’s team Le Thuy District’s Kim Thuy Commune. The bomb was relocated to await a controlled detonation.

Large numbers of wartime bombs have also been detected in Quang Binh.
According to the Ministry of Defence, nearly 225,000 hectares of land across Quang Binh was contaminated by unexploded ordnance (UXO). Landmine or UXO accidents have claimed more than 2,930 lives in the province.
