Saigon Railway Transport JSC announced that due to the Covid-19 outbreak, they have suspended the pair of trains on the Nha Trang-HCM City route including the trains that were supposed to run from May 9 to 12 and May 16 to 19 from HCM City to Nha Trang. Trains from Nha Trang to HCM City that were supposed to run from May 10 to 13, May 17 to 20 and May 16 to 23 were also suspended.

Hanoi Railway Transport JSC also issued an announcement about the suspension of Hanoi-Lao Cai trains. Friday trains were suspended from May 7 and the Sunday trains will be suspended from May 9. The trains from Hanoi to Vinh City were suspended on May 6 and the trains from Vinh to Hanoi were suspended on May 7. The trains on the Hanoi-Haiphong route were also suspended from May 7 and the Hanoi-Yen Bai trains will be suspended from May 8.

According to the Ministry of Health, from April 27 to May 6, Vietnam registered 120 community cases in 14 cities and provinces. Hanoi recorded 47 cases, 25 cases were in Vinh Phuc, 14 cases in Ha Nam, 12 cases in Bac Ninh, 5 cases in Danang and Thai Binh each, four cases in Hung Yen, two cases in Hai Duong and one case in HCM City, Yen Bai, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Dong Nai and Lang Son each.
