Hanoi has planned to hold firework displays at dozens of places across the city on the coming Lunar New Year Eve with a 30-minute show for Hoan Kiem Lake area.
The information was given by the Hanoi High Command Major General Nguyen Doan Anh at a meeting with the Hanoi People’s Committee on January 29.

According to Major General Anh, firework shows have been planned for 32 sites in 30 districts of Hanoi, with nine high-range displays.
At the meeting, the committee chairman Nguyen Duc Chung said that the Hanoi High Command should consider increasing the time for the firework display at Hoan Kiem Lake area to 20-30 minutes.
To Van Dong, director of the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that art performances will be also organised at places where firework shows are held.
Dong added that the department has called agencies and people in Hanoi to decorate the area around their headquarters and their houses to welcome the Lunar New Year.
