Nguyen Thi Phuong, 53, said that it took her family three hours to get to the airport from An Giang Province. They then waited two hours at the airport to welcome a relative from South Korea.

Meanwhile, roads around the airport such as Truong Son, Bach Dang, Lang Cha Ca often face traffic jams

Tan Son Nhat International Airport is expected to serve 130,000 people around Tet, up 10,500 against the same period last year. Flight frequency this Tet is set to increase by 5.68-6.24% on-year.

HCM City authorities will focus on mitigating congestion at areas around the airport. The municipal Transport Department have halted licensing repair works on roads leading to the airport, except for urgent cases, from 6 am to 10 pm.
