At around 9 pm on February 5, Hanoi Sewerage and Drainage Limited Company moved the swans out of the lake. The company used boats to catch the swans which had been imported from Belgium.

They were then released at Thien Quang Lake an hour later.
Speaking with reporters, the company director Vo Tien Hung said the raising of swans at Hoan Kiem Lake will be suspended.

The Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, said that they had not yet received any proposal from Hanoi Sewerage and Drainage Limited Company to raise swans on Hoan Kiem Lake.
