The tourist town of Sapa has seen its first chilly weather of the year over the last couple of days.

The tourist town of Sapa has seen its first chilly weather of the year over the last couple of days.

The town has been covered in dense fog and temperatures have fallen to around 12 degrees Celsius. Drizzle have caused the weather to be colder.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecast, the northern region will face the first strong cold spell this year.

The average temperature of the delta and midland regions will be 16-19 degrees Celsius in the days to come, while the temperature for the northern mountainous areas will be 13-15 degrees Celsius.

Some high mountainous areas such as Dong Van, Tam Dao, Mau Son and Trung Khanh will see the temperature 9-11 degrees Celsius.
