Rainy season brings jellyfish to Vung Tau

According to To, the jellyfish often appear in the morning when visitors often go out to the beach for a swim. On May 27, the lifeguards and employees at local management boards of tourism sites provided first aid to many visitors who were stung by the jellyfish.

"We've asked firms and local management boards to put up warning sites about the jellyfish and prepare first aid and medicines for the stings," To said.

During the first week of the summer holiday season, local beach in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province welcomed over 58,000 visitors thanks to nice weather and good security. The beach is not too crowded and clean.

The visitors and locals flocked to Bai Truoc Park, Cot Co Park and Nghinh Phong Cape on May 26 and 27, causing small congestion on streets with a high number of accommodation such as Thuy Van, Hoang Hoa Tham and Phan Van Tri. Many hotels and guest houses were completely full on May 25 and 26.

Nguyen Tran Hoai Thuong, director of the Vung Tau Tourist Support Centre, said 50 customers came to gather information about Vung Tau and they also helped six missing kids to their parents.
