Quang Ninh Province has planned to expand a road to link to Lang Son Province in the north.
Highway 342 will be around 60.2 kilometres, starting from Ha Long-Van Don Expressway and ending at Deo Liu Pass in Lang Son’s Dinh Lap District. Around 37.5 kilometres will travel through Ha Long City.
The project will include a 2,670-metre tunnel located between Ha Long City and Ba Che District in Quang Ninh.
According to the consulting firm's proposals, the project will be divided into two phases. The first phase will focus on the section running through Ba Che District, which is expected to be completed in 2023. The second phase will upgrade the remaining section.
The project will cost around VND4.8 trillion (USD206.98 million) to be sourced from Quang Ninh’s budget.
Several viaduct sections will be built in mountainous areas located between Ha Long City and Ba Che District.
