Dang Van Canh, vice chairman of My Duc District People’s Committee, said that local authorities have developed a Covid-19 prevention plan, including security at three Covid-19 check-points around the pagoda working around the clock. Each working shift consists of 8-10 people. The force will be increased at the weekend when more visitors come to the pagoda.

Nguyen Thanh Tinh, who lives near the pagoda, said that the Huong Pagoda Festival takes place for roughly three months every year, but this year, because of Covid-19, the time was shortened to just two months.
“We’re very happy to be informed that the pagoda will be reopened on March 13”, Tinh added.
Luu Van Le used to earn around VND20-30 million from providing rowing services for visitors along the stream during the Huong Pagoda Festival. This year, his income has sharply decreased as a result of Covid-19. He initially will use three out of five boats when services are resumed.
