He pledged that the Government of Vietnam always backed the two ministries’ cooperation, as he believed it would contribute to enhancing the strategic partnership between the two countries.
Vietnam considered the building of institutions a crucial facet of the country’s development strategy, the PM told visiting Italian Minister of Justice Andrea Orlando during their meeting in Hanoi on October 27.Paying special attention to building institutions, the Government of Vietnam had drastically improved the enforcement of law in practice while creating favourable conditions for socioeconomic development and serving the people and enterprises, he said. He went on to highlight the significant role of the justice sector in that process.
He proposed that Italy advise the EU to sign and approve the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement soon.
He also expressed hope that Vietnam and Italy would boost their economic, trade and investment ties, thereby further increasing two-way trade.
He made clear that Vietnam always supported Italian investors in doing long-term business in the country and in implementing useful projects, especially in areas of strength for Italy and areas of demand for Vietnam.
For his part, Orlando said that during his working visit, a memorandum of understanding on bilateral cooperation would be signed, laying the foundation for an effective partnership on justice and contributing to expanding the relationship between the two sides.
Lauding Vietnam’s efforts to reform over the years, especially in justice, he said that Italy was always interested in bills being discussed by the National Assembly of Vietnam, including the Law on Belief and Religion and the Law on Associations.
Orlando affirmed that the strengthening of justice cooperation would help boost partnerships between enterprises from both countries.
