The northern region of Vietnam has been forecasted to witness a new widespread heatwave
Many northern localities will experience temperatures of 35-37 degrees Celsius on June 7-8, with some places surpassing 37 degrees Celsius.
The hot weather will also hit central and southern central localities from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen provinces on June 7-9, with maximum temperature of 37 degrees Celsius.
Meteorologists warn that intense heat, low humidity, and foehn winds may cause residential fires, explosions from increased electricity use, and forest fires. Prolonged exposure could also result in dehydration, exhaustion, and heatstroke.
