As many as 457,691 Vietnamese children nationwide are exposed to HIV/AIDS, and nearly 10,000 of them are living with the deadly disease.

The figure was released by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Welfare (MOLISA) at a November 19 conference in Hanoi, which reviewed the three-year implementation of the National Action Plan for Children Affected by HIV and AIDS Until 2010, with a vision to 2020.

The plan is aimed at raising public awareness and boosting inter-sectoral cooperation in protecting and caring for HIV/AIDS-affected children.

It includes kids who are infected and at risk of contracting HIV, such as drug users, victims of human trafficking and sexual harassment, human trafficking and sexual harassment, and those born to HIV/AIDS-infected parents.

In the last three years, the MOLISA, the Ministry of Health and relevant agencies have hosted over 11,000 seminars and offered HIV/AIDS refresher courses to over 60,000 lecturers and students nationwide.
