Domestic carriers Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Jetstar Pacific, Bamboo Airways and Vietnam Air Services Company (VASCO) operated a total 29,363 flights in February, up 22.8% on-year and 16.6% compared to January 2019, according to a report from the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV).

Among those, 4,984 flights were delayed, representing a rise of 4.2% and 0.9% against January and the same period of last year.
Budget carrier VietJet Air recorded 2,677 delayed flights, holding 21.5% of the firm’s total flights, up 3% on-year.
Jetstar Pacific had 838 delayed flights.
Vietnam Airlines saw 1,343 delayed flights; Vasco with 98 flights and Bamboo Airways with 28 flights.
The CAAV said that the late return flights were the main cause of the delays and cancellations.
Other reasons include limited airport infrastructure and services, flight management and operations, weather and technical issues, the agency highlighted.
