The Quang Tri People's Committee has approved the investment policy for the Phuc Loc Tho Wind Power Plant, a 200MW nearshore wind project with total investment estimated at VND 8.507 trillion (USD 327 million).
The provincial People's Committee Office said on September 23 that investors would be selected through a bidding process in accordance with Vietnamese law.

The project will be developed in nearshore waters within six nautical miles of the coast, covering areas off Bac Gianh Ward, Dong Trach Commune and Hoan Lao Commune in Quang Tri Province.
The project's survey and research area will cover approximately 14,568 hectares, with seabed depths ranging from 17 to 22 metres. The plant is expected to generate around 515.86GWh of electricity annually.
Under the approved plan, the project will comprise 32 wind turbines, each with an estimated capacity of 6.25MW.
The project is expected to use approximately 69 hectares of land and water surface.
With total investment estimated at VND 8.507 trillion (USD 327 million), the project will have an operating term of 50 years. The investor selection process must be completed within six months of the investment policy approval.
Construction and commissioning must be completed within 18 months of the decisions allocating or leasing land and assigning the relevant sea area. Commercial operations must begin no later than 2029.
