Nearly 100 households in Tan Khanh Ward, HCM City have been without electricity for three days
Residents said electricity was cut on the afternoon of August 19 and had not been restored by the evening of August 21.
According to Ly, 52, the issue arose because the local electricity fee collector, despite receiving payments from households, did not submit them to the power company.
“Power workers said we had not paid for two months, so they cut the supply. But when we asked the collector, he admitted he was in financial difficulty and had not passed on the payments,” Ly said.
Ngoc, another resident, said her children could not study without electricity and her family had to rent a guesthouse to sleep at night due to the heat.
“All the food in our fridge has spoiled after three days without power. The nights are unbearably hot,” Ngoc said.

Tung, who runs a mechanical workshop, said his business had been disrupted for days, delaying production because his equipment could not operate.
Local authorities in Tan Khanh Ward have dispatched staff to inspect the situation and work on solutions to support residents.
