A bomb found in Choi Village

On May 8, locals in Choi Village, Que Phong District, found an unexploded bomb while walking up a hill. Que Phong Military Command was asked to check the bomb and confirmed that the bomb was 1.95 metres long. The bomb has been safely detonated.

On April 28, Quang Van Trung in Ang Village, Tuong Duong District, hired an excavator to expand the road leading to his house and discovered a bomb which was 1.20 metres long and had a diameter of 35cm. He quickly reported to the military command in Xa Luong Commune. The bomb was later moved to Thach Giam Commune for a controlled explosion.

Also in April, a bomb was found by Khuon River that was 1.5 metres long and 0.45 metres in diameter. According to the locals, the bomb might have been dropped in 1968 or 1969.

One month earlier, while digging up the garden, a local in Ky Son District found a 2.5-metre long bomb. Due to the size of the bomb, the military had to carry out a field survey to find a suitable location to carry out a controlled explosion.
