More trains for Reunification Day holiday

Vietnam Railway Corporation has planned to add more trains on key routes to meet the increased travel demand during the coming Reunification Day April 30-May 1 holiday.

On the Hanoi-HCM City route, in addition to the 5 daily pairs of SE1/2, SE3/4, SE5/6, SE7/8, SE11/12, the railway sector will run two extra SE9 trains on April 29-30.

The firm will also add four trains on Saigon-Danang route, eight on Saigon-Quy Nhon, six on Saigon-Nha Trang and two via Saigon-Phan Thiet.

From Hanoi, there will be two additional trains to Danang and six trains to Quang Binh.

Train ticket prices for this holiday season have risen by 2-4 percent, while discounts remain available for children, students, seniors, union members, and return ticket holders.

War invalids, veterans, revolutionary contributors, and martyrs' families can enjoy up to 40 percent off, but available only for in-person ticket purchases at the station, not online.
