According to the provincial Military Command, the munitions were discovered in the foundation of a household on Tay Tri Street in Ward 1, Dong Ha Town.

The explosives include mortar rounds, shells, M83 and M49 motar bombs, grenades, and ammunition of different kinds. Most of the fuses remained intact.
Lieutenant colonel Ho Viet Hung from the Quang tri Military Command said on March 10 that part of the objects were detonated on the site, while others were moved to a safe place before being made safe.
In the coming time, the local military will continue searching for more munitions in the area.
Last month, the Mines Advisory Group (MAG) also moved and detonated 108 dangerous explosive items found in a Melaleuca forest in Quang Tri’s Hai Son Commune.
