From 6 pm to 7 am the following morning, the vessels return to Tuan Chau Island to remain on 24-hour standby, ensuring continuous readiness for any situation.
Colonel Vu Ngoc Son, Deputy Commander of the Quang Ninh Military Command, said each standby team includes 6 to 8 members, with communications and medical staff. The medical ship is equipped with four stretchers, oxygen tanks, fire extinguishers, and other essentials, ready to support search and rescue missions in Ha Long Bay when needed.
Authorities have intensified safety checks at ports and piers, with multiple patrol teams mobilised along key waterways in coordination with the port authority.
The Department of Construction is also conducting surprise inspections to ensure tourist boats comply with waterway safety rules while anchored at sightseeing stops.
