Tran Thi Mai Phuong, 11 months old, in Huong Khe District’s Hoa Hai Commune now weighs only four kilos when she contracts five diseases at the same time namely valve regurgitation, pulmonary valve stenosis, cleft palate and lacrimal gland failure and corpus callosum agenesis.

“Initially, doctors said that my daughter suffered from brain drain. Then, further tests showed that she faced corpus callosum agenesis, valve regurgitation, pulmonary valve stenosis, cleft palate and lacrimal gland failure,” Hang said.
Meanwhile, the husband, Tran Van Than, 28, only felt powerless at the role of being the main earner of the family as he faced an occupational accident in 2011, worsening his health. Since then, he has not been able to do hard work.
Phuong was born at just 1.5 kilos
The couple has sold all valuable assets in their house to pay the treatment fees for their daughter at hospitals in Hanoi. Now, they do not know how to have enough money to ensure the treatment fees for their daughter’s survival.
“Over the past 11 months, Phuong has mostly stayed at hospital. She often faces convulsive fits,” Than said.
Now, the life of the little child only depends on donor support.
