According to the National Centre for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, the cold weather would affect northeastern localities from this evening, March 26, and then spread to northwestern and northern central areas.
The northern region of Vietnam has been forecasted to see a light cold snap with downpours this weekend.
Northern localities and those from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien-Hue in the central region would have heavy rains and strong winds on March 26-27. Hail would also happen in some mountainous areas.
The lowest temperature in the northern region would be 15 degrees centigrade.
Hanoi would witness rains this weekend with the temperature of 18-20 degrees centigrade.
