
Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah
The Kuwaiti PM is accompanied by Deputy PM, Minister of Finance and Acting Minister of Oil Anas Khaled Al-Saleh; Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Bader Hamad Al-Essa; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Khaled Suleiman Al-Jarallah; and several other Kuwaiti officials.
PM Al-Sabah was born on January 4, 1942. He was supervisor of the Administrative Affairs in Al-Diwan Al-Amiri from 1968 to 1971. Between 1971 and 1975, he became director of the same department. From 1975 to 1979, he was Assistant Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs in Al-Diwan Al-Amiri. He assumed the post of Governor of Hawalli Governorate from 1979 to 1985, and in the 1985-1986 period he held the position of Governor of Ahmadi Governorate. From 1986 to 1988, he was head of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour portfolio and held the post of Minister of Information from 1988 to 1990. His Highness was appointed Advisor to the Sultan’s office. In February 2001, he was appointed Deputy PM and Minister of Defence. In 2004, he presided over the Supreme Council for the Environment. He held the post of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and Minister of Defence in July 2006. A year later, in October 2007, he became First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence and he was nominated in 2010 as Chairman of the Higher Council for the Disabled Affairs before becoming Kuwaiti PM in December 2011.He was honoured with the "Medal of King Issa First Class" from His Majesty King Hamad bin Issa Al-Khakifa of Bahrain, the Imperial Decoration of "Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun" from Japan's Emperor Akihito and the "Legion of Honour Medal of the First Degree" from French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
