The destroyer with 246 crew members on board are having a friendly visit to the city on April 20-24, besides using logistical and technical services.

The trip is among activities to deepen defence and security ties between Vietnam and Japan. Such activities between the two sides were affected by Covid-19 pandemic.
During the stay in Haiphong, the Japanese delegation will have a meeting with Vietnam Naval Academy, which will be held online to ensure Covid-19 preventive measures.
On Tuesday, the Japanese crew members also met Yamada Takio, Japanese Ambassador in Vietnam.
