Dinh Ky Giang, Deputy Director of Lang Son Provincial Department of Industry and Trade, cited a report from the Vietnam Institute of Energy as saying that among 15 northern cities and provinces, Lang Son had the best potential for wind power development, due to average wind speeds of 4.5-7m/s.

Under the National Power Development Plan for the 2021 - 2030 period, Lang Son will be one of the north’s wind power hubs
Giang added that many qualified investors have come to the province eyeing opportunities to build wind power plants.
As many as 32 wind power projects with total capacity of 4,630 MW are being surveyed and completing investment procedures to be carried out in the province.
A number of firms have installed wind turbines to measure wind quality in the province, providing positive data for their investment.
