The incident occurred at the Sunrise Apparel Vietnam in Thanh Thuy District on August 28 when 154 workers developed symptoms including abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headaches and fatigue a short time after having lunch at the company's canteen.
They were admitted to some healthcare centres in the area for treatment.
The Thanh Thuy District Healthcare Centre said on Friday morning that after receiving treatment for food poisoning, many people have been discharged upon their recovery while nearly 10 others remain at Thanh Thuy District Healthcare Centre.
"We have collected food samples at the company for testing," the department said.
The meals, which included braised fish, cabbage, stewed tofu with pork, and steamed rice, were supplied by the Hoang Thuy Commercial and Service Company. Hoang Thuy, based in Thuy Van Industrial Zone, said that they also supplied over 3,000 similar meals to different companies in the area during lunch time yesterday but there haven't been any other reports about food poisoning.
Located in Hoang Xa Industrial Zone, the Sunrise Apparel Vietnam is under construction and the workers were attending a training course at the site when the incident happened.
