The survey covered 7,500 patients and their relatives at 60 public hospitals in 23 cities and provinces.

Many hospital toilets are in bad condition
According to the survey, the average PSI in the country reached 4.04/5, an 80.8% satisfaction rating compared to 79.6% of 2017.
In 2018, patients showed their higher satisfaction for doctors’ skills and attitude, including more careful explanation on the treatment, and hospital beds.
Hospital fees and toilets stood at the bottom of PSI. Meanwhile, some indexes such as instructions on medicine use and information on treatment fees were ranked lower than in 2017.
The survey also indicated that 9.5% of patients admitted providing cash bribes doctors.
The PSI is aimed to determine the needs of patients and shortcomings in the country’s healthcare system. The lessons learnt from the survey will help the health sector and hospitals improve their check-up and examination services.
