
As of Friday morning, all the Covid-19 checkpoints inside the city had been removed and the streets became busy with some even faced congestion during the rush hours.

Nguyen Ke Khanh in Binh Thanh District said that he was happy to see the familiar crowded scene on the streets again.

"Thank God our life is returning to normal again," he said. "I’ll come back to work today and I’m happy to see the bustling life returning here."

HCM City has started to ease social distancing measures and move into a new normal state from October 1, although most activities will reopen in a cautious manner and follow a safety first slogan.

From October 1 the city will allow 14 business and production services to resume operation, while still banning cultural events, entertainment activities, and other services.
