They travelled nearly 2,000 kilometres from Binh Duong which was hard hit by Covid-19. At a Covid-19 checkpoint in Hanoi, they were given food and drinks. They were also asked for health declaration and quick Covid-19 testing. The police then led the way to take them home in northern localities.


The people on Tuesday evening went through Hanoi after leaving the southern province of Binh Duong for their hometown


All of the people felt tired after the long journey
"I’m very happy to get home. We were required to do Covid-19 testing in localities that we passed through. It was also lucky for us to be shown the way by traffic policemen,” said Sung A Mia, a worker from Binh Duong.
Vu Mi Po from Lao Cai Province said that they had to buy bottles of petrol for reserves.
Most of them are poor people and have become unemployed because of the pandemic.
After 11 pm on Tuesday, they were taken out of the capital city to get back home.
