The department has asked local tourist destinations and service providers to publish their service prices and refrain from overcharging customers.

The facilities have been urged to tighten control over fire safety regulations.

Travel firms are required to ensure the quality of promotional programmes to protect the local tourism sector’s image.

Meanwhile, transportation firms have to check the quality of their vehicles to ensure safety.

Tourists in Hanoi can complain to the municipal Department of Tourism via the 1800556896 hotline, particularly in regards to over-charging.

Hanoi’s tourism sector is set to welcome between 9-10 million visitors in 2022, including 1.2-2 million foreigners. Its total revenue is expected to reach VND27.84 to VND35.84 trillion.

Director of the municipal Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang said the city is focusing on developing tourism products based on its strengths, particularly in cultural and sports tourism, and resort and MICE tourism.
