A poor family in Ha Tinh Province is struggling with a father with mental diseases while the mother has lost one leg. Their two little sons have to take care of them every day.
The couple Truong Thi Lieu and Dau Xuan Quang in Thach Viet Xuyen Commune in Thach Ha District recently sent a letter to Dantri/DTiNews to call for help.
The little boys taking care of their mother
The family lives in a small house in bad condition near a cemetery in the village. The house was built with the support of the commune for poor households.
Speaking to DTiNews reporter, Lien said that the couple got married in 2006 and then have two boys, one is now 10 and the other is six. Her husband has been suffering from mental diseases for many years. He often only lies in the bed and says nothing.
Since he was sick, Lien had to earn a living for the family. A work accident saw her lose one leg.
The boys face a gloomy future
She has sold everything valuable in her house to pay her hospital fees. Since being disabled, the two sons have become the mother's mainstay. Every day, the boys have to do housework from cooking meals to washing clothes. They also help the parents with their washing.
The new school year will begin soon, but it will prove almost impossible for them to return to school.
