Siemens is holding the first-ever competition for ASEAN journalists reporting on green technology.
This includes journalists who cover sustainability and environmental issues in the region.
The competition is organised to honour, commend and reward professional journalists who have excelled in reporting on green issues in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
Additionally, through this award, Siemens wants to enhance public awareness on environmental issues in the region.
All submitted articles must be published during the competition period from January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2010 in mass media such as newspaper, magazines or websites of accredited news agencies.
The entries will be assessed in the English language. Vietnamese entries must be sent along with an English translation of the articles.
The entries will be evaluated according to criteria of news value, writing and language technique as well as the grasp of subject matters including energy efficiency, industrial productivity and sustainability.
There will be a total of 6 awards including the top 3 selections along with 3 honourable mentions for each subject.
